Hello Greg and Ursula, my question involes some advice on fixing my jerk and snatch. To start, I am a super at about 130kg and I am having trouble stablizing my jerk and snatch overhead, as well as a huge disparity between my strength numbers and my classical lifts. I front squat 207 and back squat 265 but I only clean and jerk 165 and snatch 130. I do know that some of this problem is that my pull is terrible around 225. Now to my overhead, the issue that seems to be the most constant is that overhead my right arm does not like to lock out and i end up pressing out a lot of the time. I have already tried to fix this in my snatch by doing snatch sotts and muscle snatchs I have stopped muscle snatching after I started hitting 90 for doubles consistently, and I do not do snatch sotts as much and more as I can hit around 90-95 for 3. I am open to any input that you can give me thank you.
Hold your arm at your side and extend your elbow maximally - if it extends completely there but not overhead, the problem is not at the elbow. It may be a mobility issue in the shoulders/lats/etc that is preventing the arm from elevating adequately to allow a complete and/or strong lockout. You may also have a problem locking in the shoulder blades to create a strong enough base for the arms.

I would not worry about press in snatch and the like and would focus on exercises like overhead squats, snatch balances, jerk supports, snatch push press and push press (examples of those are in our exercise library) - always of course focusing on aggressive, forceful lockout, and ideally holding that locked-out position for a few seconds on every rep.
